Pete Townshend and Ronnie Lane – Till The Rivers All Run Dry

The last track on their wonderful 1976 Rough Mix LP, this is a fairly straight cover of a song originally recorded by Don Williams. This version is a little lighter and looser and features a charming – and somewhat uncharacteristically pretty – lead vocal by Townshend.

It’s a warm, simple (despite the grandness of rivers running dry and the sun falling from the sky) and lovely song that melts your heart a bit and puts a smile on your face.
