The Six Parts Seven’s 2003 Lost Notes From Forgotten Songs album features remixes/re-interpretations of their spacey instrumentals. Here they rework and add vocals to their On Marriage with a couple of members of Carissa’s Wierd.
Beginning rather mournfully – and prettily – with uncertain, gentle piano and the repeated “When you’re all alone/I feel home” line, it later moves into something happier and more upbeat. It’s gorgeously sung with the singer overjoyed that this is her wedding day. And while it’s obviously a celebration and a declaration of love, there’s a slightly darker side: her being glad that her husband-to-be has chosen her over someone else: “Broke her heart just to save mine”. But more: “It’s okay ’cause she’s a slut/and won’t forget our wedding day.”
That spelling of Wierd is correct, by the way. That’s how Carissa’s Wierd spell it.
