Robin Gibb – The Worst Girl In This Town

Ah, bugger. It looked for a moment there that Robin Gibb was going to make it. A genuine shame that he hasn’t.

This, from his excellent (and overlooked) 1969 solo album, contains most of the things I liked about him: his tremulous voice, his strange lyrics and his leftfield approach to pop music. In fact, I’d highly recommend the whole album – just to hear what a fantastically talented oddball he was.

And then, of course, there’s all that great Bee Gees music…
