The Records – Starry Eyes

Sounding like a New Wave version of The Byrds, this is The Records’ best-known song (from 1978). And although the lyric is all about the troubles with their manager, it’s just a classic slice of life-affirming power pop.

The first video here features the superior single version. The second video, featuring them performing the re-recorded album version from a London shop window, is here simply because it’s a great clip.
