Fronted by Yoshimi P-We, OOIOO is basically an offshoot of the marvellous Boredoms. The same sort of dynamics are found here (those drums!) but with the added frisson of it being four women. Which isn’t meant to be as patronising as it sounds: in the realms of art rock, it’s quite refreshing to hear such an overtly female take on it all.

The song’s obvious draw is the majestic, rolling drums (which I could listen to all day). But it’s the infectious call and response vocals (I have no idea what they’re singing about) that just makes it a complete bundle of joy.

Feel like getting up and dancing to that but fear the exertion needed to keep pace would kill me.
